Mother's Day

Christian, Katrina, and the World's Best Mom.

Mother's Day is just around the corner. I hate Mother's Day the way I hate New Years: a whole lot of expectation and a whole lot a let down. So here are some of my Mother's Day survival tips:

1. Just tell your husband what you want. Email him a picture. Circle it in a magazine. Hell, purchase it and wrap it if you have to. You'll get what you want, he'll be relieved, you'll both be happy.

2. Do not believe that you will be able to sleep in. Just get out of bed and get over it.

3. Be prepared to spend the day with family. Yes, maybe even your mother-in-law. This one is unavoidable. I know we all want to stay home in bed, no make-up, no underwear, no kids, and with a good chick flick and chocolates, but this is not going to happen.

4. Buy something frozen for dinner. All your hubby and kids have to do is heat and serve. You don't have to cook or think about what to cook. Leave the dishes in the sink, they can wait till tomorrow.

5. Be HAPPY you are a Mom. I'm serious about this one. I spent years wanting to be a Mommy and Mother's Day was a reminder that I was not. Appreciate those around you who are great Moms, those who don't have kids that mother us all, or those who help you mother your own kids. Celebrate being a women! We are all mom's at heart and this is a day to be thankful for all types of Moms.

Note to Jeff: You always make my Mother's Day great. This one will be even "great-er "with a little Brighton jewelry. Love you Sweetheart :)

Lots-

OK- what is Mom wearing, and is it really shiny like it looks in the picture?

Mom looks like me with black hair in that picture.

I always love Mother's Day. Jon usually does a really good job making sure I get to sleep in, and thats all I ever REALLY want. He's good with the gift too. I don't dread the holiday.

"Tell you husband exactly what you want" has been the motto for my entire marriage :)
